What is Power BI from Microsoft?

Microsoft has created a package of business intelligence products called Power Bi. By connecting to numerous data sources, it is used to visualize data and produce rich, interactive business reports that give insightful data analysis, assisting you in making better business decisions.

Business intelligence, however, is a rather specific term. According to Microsoft, business intelligence (BI) enables firms to swiftly identify useful insights for making strategic decisions by analyzing both historical and current data.
Data modeling should be understood prior to using Power BI.

Data modeling, according to Microsoft, is the process of describing and evaluating all the various types of data that your company produces and collects, as well as the connections between those data points.

Why are abilities in Power BI crucial?

In the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Analytics and Business Intelligence Platforms for 2022, Microsoft is positioned as a Leader.

In The Forrester WaveTM: Augmented BI Platforms, Q3 2021, Forrester names Microsoft as a Leader.

In 2020, 49% of data and analytics decision-makers at companies with advanced levels of insights-driven business maturity expect their organization to adopt enhanced BI systems, compared to only 31% at companies with a starter level of development, according to Forrester.

Two-thirds of decision-makers in data and analytics in 2020 claimed that their company was hiring more people with sophisticated data and analytics expertise.

Additionally, decision-makers in data and analytics reported that their company budgeted up to 45% for investments in reporting, dashboards, performance management, data exploration, and OLAP.

It’s difficult to not think of Power BI as your top option for an enterprise BI platform, especially if your company intends to use Microsoft Azure to host and process the majority of its business and productivity applications.

What has Power BI been like for me?

I teach guided projects for Coursera. In addition, I test numerous courses for Coursera’s Beta Program before they are released.

I’ve taken more than 50 online classes covering a range of topics. I have some insight into what to look for in an online course because to my experience as both a student and an instructor of online courses.

In order to evaluate each course on this list, I drew on my expertise.

Methodology for Course Ranking

This ranking was created using the same, now well-proven technique as my earlier rankings, which you can find all of here. There are three steps to it:

1. Research

I began by using Class Central’s database, which has information about more than 80K online courses and 170K reviews. Then, using ratings, reviews, and bookmarked courses, I generated a preliminary selection of 200 Microsoft Power BI courses.

2. Assess

To discover what other students felt about each course, I checked reviews on Class Central, Reddit, and course providers. I then compared these opinions with my own learning experiences.

3. Choose

Well-made courses were chosen if they offered worthwhile and interesting information, and they had to meet a number of requirements before being ranked in that order: thorough curriculum, release date, affordability, ratings, and enrollments.

In order to obtain the best of both worlds, I combined a decade’s worth of Class Central data with my personal experience as an online learner to create a special selection of courses. I’ve already invested more than 16 hours creating this list, and I’ll keep adding to it.

Stats Regarding Course Rankings

The following statistics pertain to this course ranking:

• Over 762K people have enrolled in these courses collectively.
• There are 2 premium courses and 11 free or free-to-audit courses.
• With 4 courses, Microsoft is the course provider with the highest representation in the list.
• There are 11 English-language courses and 2 Spanish-language courses.
• There are more than 200 courses in the Microsoft Power BI category on Class Central, and the topic has been bookmarked more than 2.4K times.

So without further ado, here are my top recommendations for online Microsoft Power BI courses.
